holidays no more

coming to an end for my chinese new year holidays. as expected, till now, i haven't been able to gamble because i dun have any kakis to play with me. not much of family visiting or visiting of relatives. i see only the same few relatives which is good and bad in a way. good in the sense that i need not go and talk to those relatives whom i dun really know at all. but BAD BAd tool.. i can't catch up with my cousins. since i lost my phone, i am unable to contact her watsoever.

Its actually good to have an elderly in your house, please belive me. there's a chinese saying "Jia You Yi Lao, Ru You Yi Bao" something meaning that having an elderly at home is like having a gem. now i truly believe in this saying. people gather together during chinese new year mainly because there is some elderly still living and everyone gathers at the person's house to see how he/she is and than will start chatting and catching up with their cousins and aunties and wateva relationship they hold. i can feel this change since the death of my father too. though he's not exactly an elderly personal in my family, but he brings everyone together, that's something i guess i won't be able to experience in the near future.

as my titles was suggestings, holidays no more. there won't be anymore long holidays for the next 1.5 months at least. my impression is that the earliest long weekend break will be in april IF im not wrong. anyway Viper brothers, IF you're reading this blog and i doubt so, i hope i can organise a gathering soon. pls make yourselves free. oki??

pastime at home?

7 hand poker. guess what? i've played more than 100 rounds of this already. and guess what again? i play with this person only. look how bored can we get at times. we just play this and talk nonsense. so ya.. if u ever wanna know what i do when im free when im loitering on the internet, i'd probably be blogging or playing this game~ =/

chinese new year, not so same

remember.. when u were once a child. u are so happy that chinese new year is approaching because :

- you get to buy new clothes(then wear them)
- you get to buy new shoes(and wear them too)
- you get to get many many red packets
- you get to count the money inside the red packets(or at least i gt the chance to)
- you get to keep part or the whole some of collection you got.

and children get sad when :

- they didn't get some red packet from some distant relative they saw at someone's house.
- their new clothes get dirty somehow

BUT as you grow up. has this chinese new year feeling somewhat changed?

- you get to buy clothes whenever you like. what more shoes?
- you get to count the money collected, but u can do anything with it.
- you will be pissed off when your clothes get dirty and prob swear and curse a lil at that person
- you are somehow not bothered about red packets collection ANYMORE.

at least this is quite true for me. i did not buy any new clothes just for chinese new year. partly because i cannot find any nice tops. intended to just get a new top. but oh well.. what the hell~ dosen't matter even if im wearing old clothes since we just buy clothes whenever we like.

new year is no longer a red packet collection day for me. just a chance to have dinner with my grannie, visit my great grand aunt. talk nonsense with my aunts. that's all. in fact, when i saw my distant relatives in my granny's house, i just chose to stay in the kitchen where i was when they stepped into the house and waited patiently for them to leave while i was having lunch. when i was at my great grand aunt house, they went there also(sway) so i just stayed in the kitchen AGAIN with my sis and aunt, while talking to aunt Judy and Wendy until they left again. guess those distant relatives of us should consider us us "hungry ghosts" ba.. hahah!
ask me about ang bao collection.. i collected 9! wahaha.. not very bothered la.. CNY a chance for me to have an excuse of long break(though nt very long exactly)

last but not least dun whine over how many ang baos u have collected, its the quanlity, not the quantity~

Chinese New Year

finally the day is approaching. Chinese New Year, a day where it seems like it's a must for children to wear new clothes. u see many happy children in the streets because they are just collecting ang baos. adding more $$ in their banks. or maybe use the money to get something they like. new year to me now is not much different from any other days. just a long break for me for this eyar's case since its like a 4 day break from camp. 4 days without nonsense. i can lead the simplest form of life within the 4 days. may be able to do some sun tanning. see my grandma whom i haven seen for at least 6 months. and some extra income for me(i spend my very last bit of money on a pair of levis 523 jeans) and of cos. i hope i can take this opportunity to meet up with my mates again. though im not sure whether we will be able to find time to meet up. but if we do, we'll definitely enjoy ourselves.

have yet to watch memoirs of a geisha. hope i'll be able to catch it before the show stops screening in movies.

now is still Chu Xi(eve of chinese new year) wonder what everyone had for the reunion dinner. since there is no more need for the prayers my family is customed to do for the past 20 years since i've been alive, we finally had steamboat for a change for reunion dinner. though its the same few ingredients we have for dinner. but steamboat is still a nice choice. cos we get to choose to eat what we like, and avoid the food we hate.. whahah! *evil grinz*

last but not least, Happy New Year PeepZ! may you guys have a prosperous new year and get lotsa $$$$

happy birthday

happy birthday to daddy, today is his birthday, ought to be happy? nah, cos yesterday was daddy's 2nd death year anniversary(english calender) and in the lunar calender? hasn't come yet. mummy ask me to go pay respects to him on the 3rd day of cny, prob in the early noon since i can't be there on the actual day due to army..

meet ups are always nice

first things first happy advanced(29th jan) bday jer

met up with my dearies from college for dinner and a lil clubbing thingy at MOS. It's been sucha long time since we met up and had a great talk together. though I didn't enjoy MOS experience, i should really comment that the interior is nice and the toilets are like "fwah!" nice! but high maintainence is definitely needed. after that was the Bak Kut Teh(some pork rib soup) at Mohamad Sultan. It's been a long time since we went there fot the bak kut teh also. foos is somewhat similar taste. but i have to agree that the salty vege is not that salty already.

thanks for making my night a wonderful night, jinx*d =)

nicknames

is there always such a point of time when you just want to scold a person so badly but you can't cos u know you'll still need their help in the future? is there by any chance you just want to ignore the person butyou can't? is there a time where u wan to talk bad about someone but you can't? i would think that anyone can fall into those above mentioned catagory easily. that's why people always give people nicknames. maybe people behind my back give me names do. but to me its a like i care thing. since you are giving me nicknames, i doubt im any close to you. neither do i regard you as a close friend i suppose.

so as i was saying, NICKNAMES. 5 weeks of new phase of life has passed. and im glas to say i know more people. thanks to our out of camp exercise i got to know 1 more nice guy to talk to. though we may not be close. --> out of point from topic? anyway these 3 people in camp are getting on my nerves badly i say.

1)i renamed him as little red riding hood(what an innocent name) he's just like a pest. irritates people. one day he ws touching parts of my face, my uniform and stuff around me. asking whether i was oki. i looked kinda "steam" first 2 times i replied and then he started to repeat and touched everywhere and i began to ignore him BUT he continued until a new target came Kangwei. Kangwei being a nice guy didn't react much compared to my immediate change of facial expression from "steam" to stern. THEN during lunch this dam guy wanted to knee jab me(hitting me on my knee da joint area from the back so i would kneel) dam bastard act. fuck! anyway i didn't liek his face. now it gives me more reason to hate it

2)Missha don't even wonder why i gave him this name cos i dunno what the hell i was thinking. this guy is a SLACKER and never once HARDWORKING and all he does is to read some stuff and read the same stuff and eat and sleep. he is basically quite frdless now(i tink n see) very wayang(slack again + some actinmg skills involved) and i mean it. know a handful of people who dislikes him as well.

3)Evil step mother. i tink this is the most classic nickname i've given to anyone. i suppose at least 1/2 of the platoon hates him for what he has done. kiasu-ism, wayang, garang(tries too hard to impress) wannabe but cannot make it. mounts up to be the mosted hated among the 3 in my list..

S-U-A-Y (unlucky)

did anyone actually realise that it was friday the 13th yesterday? well well, it was just like a normal friday to me, book out day, morale a bit higher den usual. morning PT was unusually short because its conducted by my PT IC not the specs course people. breakfast was normal, nothing happened until den.. in fact breakfast was not bad, had mee rebus for breakfast in camp that day until...

8am, time for lesson. fall in as usual. mrached our short march to the "school block" as usual. than some 4 people from my platoon kena caught for they were so called seeb giggling in the platoon where they actually didn't. than more people were caught for dunno what reason. than followed by ME caught for handling an accumulator the unsafe way... i was holding it the safe way initially. but than got to walk farking to the checkpoint 2 der, hands couldn't tahan.. so i hold the banquet shoulder style kena caught.. dam suay lor.. that was the suay-est day in camp so far, and YES it was friday 13th

@ 12:53 PM
my posting and me

ATTENTION to those people I've whined to about my posting.. read on..

im begining to like what my NSF term job offered to me. NOT because its slacky. bt after the exercise on FFR that day, it kinda increased my level of interest of the job. though it looks boring and stuff, i like the idea of doin those things for whatever sake i dunno. just know that there is a certain level of interest in me and what im suppose to do for the next 1 year +. which i tink should be a good thing.. =)

rainy season or not

it has been raining quite badly for the past few days(or in fact week[s]). rain makes the weather nice and cold, so good that u can hide under ur blanket and pig urself for i dunno how many hours. of course, i too enjoy the rain every now and then, makes the weather so nice for me to find an excuse just to stay at home to sleep. but guess there's a lil overdose of rain already. causing my sispec frds to book out kate or maybe cant book out on sat cos they had to skip their exercise cos of the rain. causing me to sleep on a water bed instead of a spring bed cos my ceilling leaks in my camp.. so too much of everything is not good i say.

Monday, January 09, 2006 @ 10:44 PM
the things i do in camp(past and present)

let's see what i do in the past first, whenever i have free time i will:

- tok to my section mates, gossip, bitch and whine
- photo mania(my fav past time i suppose)
- go to other sections and gossip n bitch and whine more..
- shit, sleep, snack with da peepz
- read(rarely do this before lights off)
- ask people to go shit n bathe together(the more the merrier ya??)
- listen to lush 99.5fm using Taufiq's radio and putting it on top of Ben's cupboard since reception there is best for lush
- heart to heart toks with Eric

things i do when i have free time now:

- rarely tok to my section mates, can't seem to clique no matter what. limited topics to talk i guess.. or cos i never open up??
- bathe n shit ALONE
- read and read and read my story book
- listen to 98.7fm cos i can't get reception of lush 99.5fm
- sleep
- stare into the blank
- stare at my phone waiting for it to ring(at times only)
- unless i wan to murmur and tok to myself like a mad man(heart to heart tok)

dam!! really dam bored in my new camp. friendless? hahax.. i still dunno everyone though i know their names already.. 4th week and 4 more weeks to go, no close buddies i suppose.

*******

things i do to try to keep myself awake during lecture in tekong:

- tok to the people beside me
- copy notes
- i just fall asleep
- daze
- try to snack the muesli bar(i seem to have tried almost every flavour of uncle toby and quaker oats + some brand eric started buying and was mmmm~ not bad)

things i do to try to keep myself awake during lectures in new camp:

- take sweets
- copy notes
- attempt to make conversations at times
- i just daze and stone
- i somehow manage to fall asleep
- i scribble things anyhow
- i draw nonsense
- i try to catch language problems of my officer

*******

difference between a warrant officer and a comission officer:

- warrant officers are usually the older ones
- their command of english is kinda bad(speak more chinese n hokkien i suppose)
- BUT they all can get confused too!

was so tired today during lecture that i started writing the language problem of one of my officer. his tense and nouns and wateva la.. wrote onto my notebook.. hahax =X shall try to share it in the new future!!

*******

met jess for dinner just now.. seem like a hungry ghost.. bought the pig organ soup and somewhat forced jess ro share the black carrot cake with me! haha.. bought 8 bucks worth of bread for my mama and my sister.. bought Yong Tau Fu for dinner tommorrow(im finally going to touch the pots and pans!) bought fruitips for my mum(blackcurrent flavour) bought the adidas deordorant since i tink my uniform stinks. bought the nian gao for new year. bought a carton of soft drinks in order for preparation for new year.. withdrew money for ang bao money for both my mum and my grandma and there goes 2/5 of my pay.. sad sia.. but guess its quite a no choice thing.. their my seniors afterall.. my mum, my only parent left and my only granny left, so i have to be filial to them somehow. felt the hearbreaking lost of my father. though we aint that close, but it still shattered my heart somehow when he passed away. before he could enjoy his life, he passed away..

its getting depressing talking about the past..

Sunday, January 08, 2006 @ 5:50 PM
*pi-ang*

*piang*(in attempt of mimicking the sound when glass breaks) within 24hrs or less, i broke so many things( i consider) broke a vase to put the bamboo thingy which i bought for my mama for CNY, den i broke a key chain, not in a departmental store *relieves*. and i know i broke one more thing but can't recall it at this point of time.

******

time check, its 6pm now. dammit. means i have to prepare to book in really soon. cos i failed my networking test. failing aint the worst part. booking in aint the worst part. the worst part is failing the DAM TEST WITH 1 QUESTION!!! arghx!! imagine, i justr nid 1 more ques to pass.. den i can book in at 10pm, den i can relax now and sleep in with the arms of mother nature, its raining so heavily, makes the weather so nice to pig in my bed under my blanket.. dam..

hmmz.. wats for dinner today? wat should i buy to bring in to camp to eat..

just for laughs

nutting much happened today, just met ben to go beach road where i gt more ZIPLOCK bags den headed to town to meet marian and i bought a belt for my lose 519 jeans and more VCDs other den that, nothing exceptional happened. so posting somethings that made me smile if i did not laugh

extracts from other blogs :

I was in my momma's room, and was standing at the door talking to her. When I made a 360-degree turn to exit the room, I banged my face against the door which was slightly ajar - if u make a 360 degree turn, u will face back the original position, unless u were blind in the beginning or u wun knock onto the wall. why make a 360 degree turn before banging onto the wall? so u mean ur mum is the wall or ur mum was standing outside her rm.. so shouldnt it be 180 degrees onli?? =X

I sent a text message to my sister that her handphone was with me - i dunnid say much about this. it exlains everything

from e mails :

WOMEN'S REVENGE

"Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the
woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet
I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.

"So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked.

"No," she replied, "
but my husband refused to come shopping with me,
so I figured this was the most legal evil thing I could do to him."

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)

I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,
pour it onto your upper thigh,
rip the hair out by the root,
and still be afraid of a spider.

WIFE VS. HUSBAND

A couple drove down a country road for several miles,
not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an
argument and neither of them wanted to concede their
position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats,
and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically,
"Relatives of yours?"
"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

WORDS

A husband read an article to his wife about how many
words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we
have to repeat everything to men...
The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you
can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.
" The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made
me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

BEAST

Husband and wife were in the midst of a violent
quarrel, and hubby was losing his temper.
"Be careful," he said to his wife.
"You will bring out the beast in me."
"So what?" his wife shot back.
"Who is afraid of a mouse?"

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up
first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee."
The husband said, " You are in charge of cooking
around here and you should do it, because that is your
job, and I can just wait for my coffee."
Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it
is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."
Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me."
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New
Testament and showed him at the top of several pages,
that it indeed says..........
"HEBREWS"

********

sidetrack a bit...
another extraction from another blog :

"The problem with large cliques is that even within the clique itself, there will be disputes and pairing ups too. It makes things difficult, and it's harder to have a heart-to-heart talk with every individual. Not everyone will like everyone with the same degree of liking. But you still have to act as if you like everyone equally, otherwise you'll be the cause of massive crack in the clique"

true true true. army mates much to me im much closer to Eric.. large grp den divided agn... hmmz..

@ 1:13 AM
sg bloggers

somehow or other ive been quite obsessed with reading people's blog lately, im not intruding people's privacy oki. cos people can chose to make their posts private, choose not to blog(and keep diaries instead), choose nt to publish their blogs and blah blah blah, and blogs that are posted are meant for people to read ya? oki. obsession may be a word too strong to use on what i have been doing.

since im quite free when im home(i either play game, chat on msn, listen to songs, or edit some of the photos i have with my limited VERY limited photoshop knowledge[lighten, darken, sharpen]) so other than that i like to surf ard and read some nice blogs ard in sg. and as i was telling one frd, mr brown's blog really caught my attention after some time. though u might nt find it fantastic, bt to me, its the lil things in life that touches our hearts and he manage to capture that important point. mr brown toks about his life mainly and sometimes on some current issues, i put his link onto my blog too, u might want to take a look at his blog!

finally one sat night and im actually at home. watched TV(finally) and other than that was more blog surfing and reading and of cos, i wont forget to rant a bit on my current life and what i have been doing. so after links and links and links i found MORE blogs. nice gd blogs worth reading. passed by fugs blog and found sandalicous blog, nt sandralicious blog(sandralicious was fetured in maxim blogger issue) sandalicious somewhat use the exact same skin as sandra BUT she edited it a bit. her most reason blog was abt the aerosol foam spray thingy was quite against sg suppposedly most famous blogger xiaxue, den we have xialanxue and the list goes on about xiaxue and her posts of her views, some gave me a good laugh :

extracted from LuLu Said :

"her blog hits are an average of a few thousand per day(so she claims) and the age demographic of her readership is from about 12 years of age onwards. mostly teenagers though. and we all know how most teenagers are rather impressionable, believing almost everything a prominent figure spews out. for example, if Orlando Bloom were to say that eating plastic contributed to his good looks, you might hear of hundreds of teenage boys being rushed to the hospital for ingestion of plastic a few days later."

and of cos she's not the only blogger who said things. but this definitely gave me a good laugh. i have to agree with her to a certain extend that XX sometimes is too harsh with what she says. cos not everyone can be viewed in one perspective. some thinks lidat others think otherwise cos we see and encounter different people. maybe these certain grp of people from this place is lidat. but it dosen't everyone from this certain place is lidat. can anyone not agree with that?

anyway if u like to blog, u somehow cant say everyting u want i suppose cos it somehow affects people in one way or another, especially when you are a so called renowned blogger, more people will notice what u say

quoted by sandralicious :

"Now i know blogs can be very destructive, and sometimes bloggers do not know nor understand the power they hold. I cannot help but roll my eyes at people who insist that they're only "blogging for themselves" These are the same people who say things like "I blog what i want. If don't like can don't read what." For goodness sake, you're never truly only blogging for yourself when you're well aware of the fact that your blog is free for the whole world to read. But more on that some other time."

so pls be a responsible blogger??

2005 a wonderful year??

okie.. i know when people see this post they will be like WTF!! its oreadi like 7jan and now i start posting about last year.. just a simple recap on the 2005 happenings and events that left some impression in my mind.. probably more ups den downs since i dun like to remember sad things..

- ivan's 21st celebration @ singapore ZOO
- completion of my attachment in a TA, made some frds thru wholesale or my coporate customers
- my 14 days aussie trip, somewhat backpack
- NS!!
- knowing of Ben, Keynes, Elroy, Delon, Sam and Eric. Of which i feel closest to Eric and regards him as my brother lidat
- my 21st bday. though wasnt exactly fantastic, bt i had 3 celebrations! wid some shatec peepz, campmates(darling section 2 seclected chinese frm V coy) and of cos my Family!
- CNY but didnt celebrates cos my father just passed away for a year den
- xmas celebration which suppose to be at MOS, bt failed, ended up in orchard swensens and 1 angry man. haha =/
- countdown at expo 31dec mambo jambo by zouk(which extended till 1jan 3.15am for me)

hmmz seems like nuttin much. bt at least 2005 didnt bore me to death.

locally produced movies

i should start changing my perspective views on locally produced movies. thks to channel 8, i found a movie which i tink its nt bad. nt for channel 8, i wouldn't realized this movie - twilight kitchen

IF u went to the link, realise that there aint an outstanding cast. from the review u might find the show boring, but it definitely touched my heart, esp towards the end of the show, which i shall not say much. Jer agreed to this as well.. if are still not convinced. think of past local productions, which sadly are mostly Jack Neo's productions(why always him ah) haven't any caught ur attention and u loved it(i have to admit i didn't catch any of his movies no matter hw great the rating was)?

well shall not say much for now.. still have to pack for book in later~

shall blog a bit more on other things if i happen to be free..

new year, new skin

yeap.. its beginning of the new year and i gave my blog a new skin! like this skin cos no nid to click here click there to get to the places people can go to. and i simply love this kinda scenery backgrd..! wil try to upload more photos to the moving frame. and of cos more links for u people to visit! till i try my best, once again.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

*i finally gt my organiser/diary for the year 2006 =D

new year eve at expo

new year eve celebration at expo.. went with vickie, rain(her frd), ivan and ming joined us while eric was with his frds clubbin der as well.. took some photos using vickie's hp. shall try to get them from her soon.. meanz making her waste some money on mms..

hmmz.. wat to say about this event organised by zouk - mambo jambo nite?

crowd - not as packed as what u expect a countdown to be. maybe its due to the location.. imagine will everyone want to travel all the way to the end of the east side for a countdown when there are so many events this year in the city central area. except for the east bummers. so the most 2/3 of the hall was filled. which was one gd thing for clubbers i suppose cos we finally have space to dance! BUT, all the regular mambo-ers were there, standing on the platform and yes.. all the actions were there as well.

drink range - pathetic!! no special drinks like martini, lambo, waterfall, magarita(nt exactly special la.. bt club drinks lor).. drinks were served in plastic cups. shots were pathetic cos no salt, no lime, no lemon.. and the shots are served in those plastic containers used to put ur sauce when u buy soething from hawker or food court.. and ya.. did i mention u have to buy coupons to buy drinks. and its strictly on cash payment onli.. sad sia..

music - nt fantastic. on and off good music only.. wonder why.. too much to choose from??

overall? i did have fun and enjoy myself. bt not to the max. left at 315am. bt glad i was there.. i almost had no programmes!~

aerosol foam sprays

remember xmas? and new year eve celebration last nite? these sprays were widely used. causing dirty streets and foamy people. was reading thru Xiaxue's blog and this petition was going on.. not sure whether this helps not. but maybe if u really hate the thing(like i do now) you'd like to try ur luck and join in the petition(count me out)

http://new.petitiononline.com/aerosol/petition.html
